Food safety is VITALLY important, but don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be! Make sure that the food safety system you have in place is not only meeting your legislative requirements, but is practical and easy to apply.

The Gourmet Guardian Food Safety Programs are ​clear, concise and compliant!
The Gourmet Guardian can develop customised Food Safety Programs that are based on Principles of HACCP, but are not as detailed or specific as a HACCP Program.

The Food Safety Programs that The Gourmet Guardian develop are:
  • Sufficiently detailed to protect your business;
  • Are practical and easy to read;
  • Bespoke (specifically designed for your business);
  • Written to comply with what ever food safety legislation is applicable to your business.
The Food Safety Programs that are prepared by The Gourmet Guardian will comply with all of the FSANZ requirements detailed in Standard 3.2.1 of the FSANZ Food Standards Code, as well as any state based legislation (including Vulnerable Person businesses (Australia wide), Class 2 businesses in Victoria and catering organisations in Queensland).

The Gourmet Guardian have designed a 11 plus 4 Point Checklist so to assist with your ongoing success. The Gourmet Guardian will:
  1. Conduct an initial online or onsite face to face meeting meeting with your businesses nominated representative; 
  2. Complete a site-specific questionnaire to obtain an understanding of your business as well as your preferences for certain processes and inclusions;
  3. Develop the Food Safety Program based on the legislative requirements that apply to your business and the information provided by your nominated representative;
  4. Prepare site-specific monitoring forms and include any of your current monitoring processes if applicable (this is to minimise disruption for your employees);
  5. Prepare detailed cleaning schedules (rather than give you a template to fill in yourselves like other companies do), incorporating your cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment and cleaning requirements. The cleaning schedules are separated into each department or area, to make it easier for your employees to understand and apply;
  6. Deliver the prepared Food Safety Program to you and explain the contents and requirements;
  7. Make any changes or amendments as needed after you have reviewed your new Food Safety Program;
  8. Submit a copy of the Food Safety Program for audit to an approved Food Safety Auditor (if legally required);
  9. Make any changes or amendments as needed after the Food Safety Auditor has reviewed your new Food Safety Program;
  10. Provide you with a duplicate copies of your Food Safety Program for your local council or regulator (if required).
  11. We provide electronic versions of all monitoring forms.

As an added value, The Gourmet Guardian can also provide:
  • An initial confidential audit and detailed report identifying potential non-conformances and areas for improvement;
  • Training for your management representatives on their new Food Safety Program, inclusive of the requirements for Food Safety Supervisor (conditions apply);
  • Completion of your first Internal Audit and Mock Recall (if required) utilising the resources in your Food Safety Program and discuss findings with you, prior to your External Food Safety Audit
  • A representative of The Gourmet Guardian can be present at the External Food Safety Audit (if required).

Our commitment is that we won't sugar coat anything for you and we won't prepare a Food Safety Program that is more complicated than it needs to be. If you implement a Gourmet Guardian Food Safety Program, then your customers will be safe, your business will be safe and your business will be compliant (and therefore safe from law suits and bad publicity).
